We’re in the midst of another heatwave with highs in the mid to upper 90s for the past five days. Muggy air is pushing “feels like” temperatures over 100°. A cool front will arrive late Tuesday with another scorcher expected ahead of the front.

FOX17 News is in a Code Red Alert for heat through Tuesday evening, as a heat advisory has been issued for much of the viewing area.

First Alert Weather Day Monday and Tuesday for dangerous levels of heat. Heat index will range between 100° to 105° for many areas. A Heat advisory is in effect until Tuesday evening. Afternoon: Very hot. High temperature, 98°. Evening: Mostly clear skies. A stray shower is possible.

Nashville faces a heat advisory with heat index values up to 106. The NWS advises precautions and expects continued hot weather with slight chances of relief from showers.

Temperatures have ranged between the mid-90s and even some 100s around the Ozarks Friday through the weekend. Springfield has measured 98° for 3 consecutive days, and today may be day 4. Today is the last day of the heat advisory that has been in effect since Friday.

Houston residents are advised to stay hydrated as a heat advisory remains in effect, with "feels like" temperatures expected to reach 104 to 106 degrees Sunday.

Dallas is under a Heat Advisory from the National Weather Service, with heat index values up to 107 and persistent high temperatures expected to continue. Precautions are advised to prevent heat-related illnesses.
