Unity Technologies, maker of the Unity game engine, announced it has acquired Vivox, the provider of voice and text communication tools for games.

Live video chat is part of the gaming experience, so Agora.io and Unity Technologies are making it easier for game developers to add chats directly into their software.

Unity acquires Vivox in-game voice and text chat platform Vivox, the entity behind 3D positional voice tech in games like Fortnite and PUBG, is now under the Unity Technologies umbrella.

Agora's launch comes a week after Epic Games bought video chat company Houseparty. Unity has also announced the Unity Verified Solutions Partners, which Agora has joined.
