(WAVE) - A Heat Advisory is now in place as our prolonged heat wave continues. Highs reach the mid-90s with the heat index climbing into the 100-104 degree range during the afternoon. While nearly all of us stay dry today, a stray downpour can’t be ruled out.We stay clear and muggy Sunday night. Lows struggle to fall into the mid 70s by Monday morning. It will stay hot and humid Monday with a slightly better chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Highs well into the 90s with the heat index in the 100-104° range if you aren’t lucky enough to see an afternoon storm. A few more clouds Monday night but still very warm and muggy. Lows in the mid 70s. The heat wave continues for much of the workweek with highs in the mid-90s and heat index values up to 105 degrees each afternoon. While isolated pop-up storms can’t be ruled out each day, better storm chances will not return until late next week or next weekend as the ridge of high pressure providing our ongoing heat wave breaks down a bit.
