The threats, pressure and ultimatums have come and gone, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has maintained Moscow’s uncompromising demands in Ukraine, raising fears he could use a planned summit with U.

The White House on Thursday afternoon said President Donald Trump is "open" to meeting with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

Trump said the two leaders will meet next Friday. It remains unclear whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be involved with the high-stakes summit.
