The striker has taken a huge risk by turning his back on Newcastle while their tug of war with Liverpool remains at a standstill

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Liverpool have informed Newcastle that if no agreement is reached by the end of this week, they will turn their attention to other targets. Isak was notably absent from the Newcastle squad for the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa earlier on Saturday.

Alexander Isak is yet to return to training with Newcastle United and boss Eddie Howe has refused to rule out the possibility of the Liverpool target being fined for his absence
