The New York Giants and New York Jets wrapped up joint practices in East Rutherford on Wednesday as tempers flared and fights broke out.

The second day of back-to-back joint practices for the Giants and Jets got a little chippy. The Giants’ first-team offense, led by quarterback Russell Wilson, had just run the ball against the Jets’ starting defense when Giants running back Tyrone Tracy got tackled to the ground with his momentum carrying his body forward.

In the situational period at the end of practice, the Giants defense held the Jets starters from scoring. The Jets advanced to the 50-yard line and had fourth-and-2 with two seconds remaining when practice was ended since the teams didn’t want to risk injury with a Hail Mary attempt.

The first week of the NFL preseason has come and gone, with teams getting a solid look at some of their starters and depth pieces heading into the regular season. On Saturday, the New York Jets and New York Giants will play in their annual preseason meeting.
