The Fairfield National Little League team won its opening game in Williamsport, Pa. in its Little League World Series opener Wednesday, defeating Texas 1-0. With the victory, the Connecticut representative remains in the United States Winner's Bracket and will play against Honolulu Little League of Hawaii on Friday.

Fairfield took advantage of its opportunity to stay in the winner’s bracket of the Little League World Series. Trailing by a run with two outs in the top of the fifth inning, Fairfield took advantage of a bases-loaded walk and an error to score five runs and rally past Honolulu,

Fairfield LL will take on Honolulu LL in a matchup between one of the hottest teams in the Northeast and an established LLWS powerhouse.
