An East Bay highway was shut down Tuesday evening following a shooting investigation where someone was shot in the arm and drove themselves to the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash happened on eastbound Highway 84, west of Interstate 880, and while on the way, officers were notified that a witness had heard what sounded like gunshots right after the crash.
